Gua Sha - The Divine Self-Care Ritual

Posted by Lauren Harrison on

We've got a secret…we LOVE our Organic Blue Tansy and Rosehip Body Oil as part of a divine self-care ritual for the face. That's right we use our body oil for a Gua Sha Facial Massage. And you can too!

So what is Facial Gua Sha?

Facial Gua Sha is the practice of gently drawing a curved stone along the contours of your face to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by reducing muscle tension in the face. Gua sha also improves circulation and assists in lymphatic drainage to reduce swelling which will help to define the face.

How to use your Gua Sha

Once you’ve moistened your skin with our Organic Blue Tansy & Rosehip Body Oil, simply follow the below steps:

  1. Hold your Gua Sha with the curved side to your face. Gently glide it starting with the neck. Make sure you’re stroking down the neck, never upwards, to drain fluid.
  2. Next move onto your jawline, chin and around the mouth, stroking the skin between three and five times per area, upward. Always take short strokes in just one direction, not back and forth. If you want to reduce puffiness, work lightly, then more firmly, to relax muscles.
  3. Pressing the tool flat to the skin, next delicately stroke under the eyes or over any redness, to soothe and de-puff.
  4. Finally, work the tool in small horizontal strokes over the brow bone to lift, or hold and press upwards between the brows to release tension.

It really does make a difference to your skincare routine and gives you a stunning glow.

Enjoy!
